Underarm Hyperpigmentation
For many people, hyperpigmentation and dark underarms can be a source of embarrassment, and your patients may feel a lack of confidence and self-esteem because of it. Underarm hyperpigmentation is a common occurrence for many patients, but much more common in darker Fitzpatricks and ethnicities, such as Hispanic and African Americans.
In some cases, underarm discoloration is due to a skin condition called “acanthosis nigricans.” This condition can cause dark, velvety patches in body folds and creases. Acanthosis nigricans can affect healthy people, or it can be associated with certain medical conditions. Additionally, factors such as genetics, improper hair removal, chemical-laden deodorants, fragrances, and loss of elasticity can also be culprits to unwanted underarm discoloration.
How is it treated?
While it's cooler outside, winter is the perfect season to treat underarm hyperpigmentation with VI Peel Precision Plus. The dual booster system combats pigmentation by combining the proven VI Peel core formula with our kojic acid and hydroquinone-enriched Lighten Booster and fast-acting Salicylic Acid Brighten Booster. VI Peel Precision Plus effectively suppresses melanogenesis, promotes rapid cell turnover, and improves skin texture, restoring skin to its natural health and appearance.
VI Pro Tip:
The acids in the VI Blend, will temporarily reduce bacteria and odor, assuring patient compliance with avoidance of deodorant use for the first 7 days. For the best outcome, remind your patients to avoid any type of hair removal in the first week post peel.
Why do they cost more than other placemat sets on the high street?
We’ve totally reimagined the process of making placemats to offer a much more sustainable business model compared to traditional retailers. Rather than have a few designs manufactured overseas in huge quantities, our approach is to offer our customers many more designs and colour options.
Can I mix and match designs?
Yes absolutely, that’s one of the main benefits of our service! You're totally free to mix and match different colours and designs. Some customers like to have a colour theme, others like to let members of their family choose their favourite, it’s up to you.
Is the laminate surface Food Safe?
Yes, the laminate is totally Food Safe, but as part of normal domestic cleaning we recommend wiping regularly with an anti-bacterial spray.
How durable is the decorative surface?
Unlike many low cost placemats, our products are made from a super durable laminate. The decorative print is fused deep into the laminate under very high pressure making it scratch-resistant and impervious to normal household stains, such as red wine etc. The fine textured surface also gives our placemats added grip to stop plates, mugs and glasses from slipping.
How are they made?
How long will my order take to make?
From the moment you order online, our team will produce the laminate with your chosen design, hand finish your placemats and dispatch them to you normally within 3-5 days for UK orders. International orders take longer for shipping, subject to the courier service used.
How do they come packaged?
We wrap your placemats and coasters in tissue paper and pack them in a cardboard box that you can keep them in at home. And the boxes are nice and easy to wrap if you’re buying as a gift.
What’s the best way to store my placemats?
It’s always best to store your placemats flat and not vertically. It’s also advised not to store them in direct sunlight as this could have a bleaching effect on the decorative colours over prolonged periods of UV exposure. Having said that, we have not had any complaints about fading - our own placemats have had lots of time in the sunshine and still look like new!
How do I clean and take care of my placemats & coasters?
Can I put my placemats in a dishwasher?
No. Our placemats and coasters can’t be immersed in water and are not dishwasher safe. Please see our Care Instructions for cleaning advice.
